Selection

INTRODUCTION

S Squadron Selection is a scaled down version of the UKSF Selection Course, providing a high level of immersion while implementing game relevant tasks for candidates that will test their abilities. Candidates are under constant pressure and are continuously monitored by the Directing Staff. The S Squadron Selection Course is run on set dates, the details of which will be posted on our forums.

PHASE 1 - ENDURANCE

The first phase of Selection emulates the culmination of the Fitness and Navigation phase of the UKSF Selection Course. Candidates will be expected to complete a timed navigation exercise across difficult terrain, carrying a weighted Bergen and full fighting order. This phase also includes some marksmanship, memory and observation tests.

PHASE 2 - JUNGLE

The second phase of Selection encompasses both the training and test stages of the Jungle phase of UKSF Selection. Training includes patrol techniques, small unit tactics, navigation, observation and reconnaissance techniques. The final test requires candidates to apply all these skills correctly in a tactical exercise.

PHASE 3 - ESCAPE & EVASION

Candidates who pass Phase 1 and 2 move onto the Escape and Evasion (E&E) exercise. Working  in small groups, candidates will carry out objectives under the constant threat of capture. Once captured, all candidates are subject to Tactical Questioning.
